LCT 550

Go Extreme

0 dB (A) self-noise from electronics and circuitry - and always a matched pair.

SHHHH... 0 dB (A) SELF-NOISE

The LCT 550 is the first and only large diaphragm studio microphone ever to achieve 0 dB (A) self-noise from electronics and circuitry.

Capture extremely weak signals

The Austrian-developed LCT 550 sets new standards in terms of more than just self-noise. Its superior dynamic range guarantees the best-possible results even in challenging situations. Our unique zero self-noise architecture allows to capture extremely weak signals with great precision and detail.

Perfect Match technology

The future of stereo recording

Any LCT 550 will always form a matched pair. Add another one and you will get a "matched triplet" ... and so on. Every single LCT 550 undergoes a series of measurements followed by an adjustment of the polarization voltage to achieve exactly the same sensitivity in every microphone.

Illuminated user interface

Easy handling in dark environments

The illumination of the user interface makes possible quick and accurate setup of the microphone - even in total darkness it is easy to check or change the settings using the noiseless push-buttons.

What's in the box

LCT 550 box content

"I have to conclude that the LCT 550 is a very capable all-rounder that delivers an honest yet musically satisfying sound in just about any recording situation you can imagine. It is extremely quiet, as the specifications imply, which means it can be used for demanding work where the sound sources are not necessarily very close to the microphone."

LCT 550

Super-low self-noise

The LCT 550 is the first and only large-diaphragm studio microphone ever to achieve 0 dB (A) self-noise*. It captures even extremely weak signals with great precision and detail. Our precision-engineered capsule captures every nuance of your voice or instrument in a musical way; with unparalleled depth and clarity. Perfect Match technology involves precise calibration of the capsule and electronics so that any two microphones will form a matched pair. These characteristics make the LCT 550 a perfect match for stereo and surround applications. The LCT 550 offers Clipping History, Automatic Attenuation, three pre-attenuation settings and three low-cut filter settings. Engineered in Austria with sophisticated technology, for clear, modern sound, all combined in a sturdy enclosure.
